The TaylorMade Penta TP is a five layer Tour golf ball by TaylorMade. Each layer is designed to improve one of the five shot categories (driver, long iron, mid iron, short iron, wedge). The outer cover layer provides the feel and the spin on wedges.

The outer mantle layer provides spin of short irons for quick stops on the green. The middle mantle increase control with mid irons to prevent ballooning. The inner mantle layer create high launch off of long irons, and the core gives the distance and high speed off the driver.
