The G10 features a shallow face with a longer heel to toe which ensures a much larger hitting area and allows added forgiveness. The G10 fairway wood also includes unique internal weight pads which help adjust the center of gravity off the face to the rear of the club mallet; this allows for a higher ball velocity, and reduced spin rates. The lower center of gravity (CG) in the mallet also accounts for increased energy transfer between the club and the ball which ultimately makes launching the ball much easier.
The Ping G10 fairway wood is designed with a combined crown and sole which makes the mallet more low-profile; this allows less interference between the user and the ball during a proper swing. According to Ping the enhanced energy transfer and increased ball distances should translate into a better game overall.
