Callaway Hyper X
$200.00
Released October, 2008
The Pros:Traditional Look is clean when you address the ball. Great price point. Hits very accurately, shots go where they're intended.
The Cons:Fairly loud on impact, makes a big "ping".
The Callaway Hyper X is a mid-range golf driver designed for intermediate and expert players. An affordable downgrade from the Callaway FT-9 and Callaway FT-iQ, the Callaway Hyper X only maintains its peers’ Hyperbolic Face Technology.

In all other ways, however, the Hyper X is an entirely different unit. For one, the Hyper X features an optimized head shape with strategic internal weighting and a 460cc size that creates a high MOI (moment of inertia) for “increased forgiveness” and stability on miss-hits. Plus, the Hyper X boasts an S2H2 (Short, Straight, Hollow Hosel) design that increases discretionary weight by removing it from the hosel and instead repositioning it in the perimeter of the clubhead. Along with the S2H2 design is Callaway’s Modified Tru-Bore Technology that allows the shaft tip to extend through the hosel and clubhead all the way to the sole, thereby improving a golfer’s control. Lastly, the Hyper X is designed for half-degree lofts (8.5, 9.5, 10.5) and features a slightly open face angle. Released in October 2008, the Callaway Hyper X retails for $199.99 and comes with a 2 year limited warranty.
